My name is John Dilworth and I specialise in hand-making and restoring high quality violins, violas and cellos. I have been fascinated with the violin family in all its aspects for my whole adult life.

The satisfaction of providing a player with a new handcrafted instrument tailored to their particular needs, restoring the voice of a neglected antique, or learning more about the art of the classical makers has sustained and stimulated my work for the last thirty years.

I remain in thrall to the instrument and its players, and my aim is to provide the best service I can to both.
